Writers for Writers

Donations from our community make a big difference and help us continue our work.

Will you join the community of readers and writers who support us with a donation?

When you make a donation to New Writing North

  • You’re providing mentorship and support for underrepresented and emerging writers, providing a much-needed leg-up to talented writers who might otherwise not be able to pursue their passions.
  • You’re helping us raise up Northern voices and change the national narrative of who gets to write and where publishing and the creation of new work happens.
  • You’re helping us run free writing groups for young writers in safe spaces, supporting the next generation of brilliant Northern writers. Your donation helps us give our young people the best chance to live healthy, happy, creative lives here in the North

Every donation goes right back into our work with emerging and underrepresented writers and talented young writers in communities with the least access to the arts.

We can’t do it without you, and we hope you’ll join our community of donors.

Times are tough, and we understand that not everyone can make a donation. You can also support New Writing North by following along and sharing our message.

We are thrilled to have writer Mari Hannah as our Writers for Writers Campaign patron.

“New Writing North literally changed my life. They opened doors for me when I was struggling to find an agent and publisher for my debut novel. I wouldn’t be the writer I am today without their help”

Mari Hannah is a multi-award-winning and bestselling author and screenwriter. She is the creator of the popular Kate Daniels series and the Ryan & O’Neil and the Stone & Oliver series, both of which are in development for TV adaptations.
