Book of Songs features poetry and prose by members of New Writing North’s Young Writers’ Group, the volunteers who mentor the young people, and poet Kate Fox, who leads the group.

Songs were the theme for the book, and here we have a range of interpretations. In some cases, songs or music provide a trigger for cherished memories, or are a soundtrack to important moments in ours lives, and in others, songs are a way into imagined worlds, the original inspiration left behind.
