If you are a writer or are interested in literature events and activities and live in the north east of England then you've found a great regional resource.

Cuckoo Young Writers

Have you ever dreamed of being a writer? Think you might be the next John Green or Suzanne Collins? Or maybe you’d like to have a go at poetry, scriptwriting or reviewing?

Whether you’ve already got a novel on your memory stick or are looking for a bit of inspiration to give your writing a kick-start, the Cuckoo Young Writers Groups could be the thing you’ve been looking for. Held on a fortnightly basis, they offer young writers aged 12-19 a chance to share their work, learn new skills, and give and receive feedback in a creative and supportive atmosphere.

All sessions are led by a professional writer and are free to attend. They’re also the place to find out about all the other exciting opportunities for young writers in the North East.

You’ll also have the chance to have your work published in Cuckoo Quarterly, the online literary magazine for young people at www.cuckooquarterly.com.
