New Writing North would like to thank all the people and organisations that allow us to deliver the level of work that we do.

Firstly, a big thank you to the board of New Writing North who support us in all of the essential day to day matters that we encounter running a small business. We have always found our board to be immensely active and we thank them for this level of continued support.

We wouldn't however be anything without the day to day inspiration and support that we receive from the writers who live and work in the north of England. Thank you.

We would like to thank Arts Council England for the support that they give for our core work and activities. We work with a range of project officers at Arts Council England North East and we appreciate their ongoing interest in our work. We acknowledge Regional Arts Lottery programme support for New Writing North's capital development in 2000/2001 and funding from the European Union via the Arts Council’s Cultural Development Sector Initiative.

The projects that New Writing North delivers are supported by a range of private and public sponsors which we would also like to thank. All our supporters are credited next to information about the projects that they support on our website (see the Projects section of the site). We would however like to give special mention here to supporters who we feel have allowed us to originate pioneering programmes of work over the last few years, so a very special thank you to:

Northern Rock Foundation
For continuing their imaginative and brave support for the Northern Rock Foundation Writer’s Award and for supporting our Magnetic North programme of events from 2003-2005.

Bussey and Armstrong, Darlington
For inspiring such a fantastic range of events as part of the Writing Westpark project and for proving that modern day philanthropy is possible.

Orange
For supporting us to develop new programmes of work with young people and for increasing their support over the last three years.

The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation
For supporting the Juice programme, which kickstarted our work in the education sector and for supporting the Magnetic North programme from 2003-2005.

Arts Council England North East
For continued support, both practical and financial.

Northern Cultural Skills Partnership
For funding elements of the Career Development section of our website.

Getting the New Writing North site together is always a huge undertaking, so thanks also to:

To the people that worked/work on the production of the website:
Jacqui Wicks (project co-ordinator for the first phase of the site)
John Adair (our current web editor and site developer)
Inovica (our web gurus) who designed and host the site

And to the people whose words we publish:
Peter Straughan, Lee Hall, Mark Robinson, Rachel Mathews, Julia Darling, Ann Coburn and Chaz Brenchley for being generous with their wisdom and imparting some tricks of their trade via the Writing Guides that we publish.

To Keith Pattinson, Sasa Savic and Dermot Blackburn, whose photos grace our pages.

This site was conceived and written for New Writing North by Claire Malcolm, Anna Summerford, Holly Hooper and John Adair.

With thanks to everyone who has passed on knowledge or allowed us to quote from them for this site.

Claire Malcolm, Director, New Writing North, August 2005
