Founded in 1909, The Poetry Society is a national body established to
help poets and poetry thrive in Britain. It is a membership
organisation which is open to all. The Poetry Society promotes National Poetry
Day and publishes magazines and publications which will be of interest to

The only national support and research network for new writing,
Writernet advocates new writing within the industry, carries out
research into particular aspects of new writing for theatre and has
done some excellent work in improving the representation of certain
communities and perspectives within new writing. They also offer a
series of excellent information booklets on several subjects - such as
literary agents, outlets for unsolicited work, university courses and
writing for radio, and a reading service.
