About this website
Welcome to New Writing North’s virtual ‘home from home’.
If you are a writer or are interested in literature events and activities and live in the North East of England then you’ve found a great regional resource.
Our site has two purposes. Firstly, it is the place where you can read about who we are, how we run, what we do and how we do it. From downloading our annual reports and browsing our project archive to checking out the books and CDs that we have for sale, it’s all here.
The site is also bursting at the seams with information and advice for writers. Here you will find basic advice on agents and the publishing process, writing guides to download written by writers who work in those fields, an archive of our fortnightly e-newsletters, information on awards schemes, mentoring and career development.
If you’re interested in attending literary events and hearing writers read their work, check out our events and news sections to find out what’s happening. You can also check out regional listings at www.literaturenortheast.co.uk.
There are also some real ‘jewels’ on this site, so do explore in depth – especially the multimedia section, where you can listen and watch all kinds of interesting things for free.
If you use an RSS reader, or a browser such as Firefox or Safari which can natively use RSS feeds, you can also subscribe to our news and publicity feeds, so that you'll always know when there's something new.
We update the front page of the site every time something new happens, which usually means that there is new information on the site every week.
