Work experience at New Writing North
New Writing North is able to offer a small number of work experience placements throughout the year, to high school students as part of the curriculum, to undergraduates, to recent graduates and to others wishing to gain experience working for an arts organisation. Placements are unpaid and are usually a week long, though this can be discussed on a case by case basis.
We only like to offer placements when we know we can guarantee an interesting and varied experience – no one likes spending a week stuffing envelopes! Having said that, most placements will involve some basic clerical duties, but we do try to give people every opportunity to shadow members of staff, attend meetings and help with project work.
