Examples of current and previous sponsorships:

The Leighton Group sponsors the annual Northern Writers’ Awards, a £25,000 fund which helps both new and established writers to achieve their ambitions and which draws attention to the North East as a centre of creativity in the field of writing.

Orange plc funded the Orange Young Writers’ Festival for a three-year period. This event allowed young people from across the north east of England to attend week-long creative courses in the summer holidays and to perform and publish their work.

Northumbrian Water supported the commissioning of Alec Finlay’s Home to a King project for the 2009 Durham Book Festival. This wonderful public artwork was launched during the festival and is now on permanent display at the Botanic Gardens in Durham.

Bussey & Armstrong in Darlington supported a programme of public artwork focussed on poetry as part of the development of their West Park project. New Writing North delivered a programme of work with schools and professional poets that created a legacy for the site.
