New Writing North receives core funding from Arts Council England and is currently a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO). This means that we receive three-year funding agreements that allow us to strategically plan our work. Receiving regular funding from Arts Council England allows us the security to cover a great degree of our core costs. From this relatively stable position we then work hard to develop new income streams for projects and activity. Each year we earn and raise income to meet our core salaries and costs and to fund projects and activities.

 

Over the lifetime of the organisation we have received funding from many organisations, sponsors and trusts and foundations. We have also received European Regional Development Funding that has enabled us to offer services and support to writers and to develop our work.
